is there any difference between LSAT and LSAT india exam

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 6th Nov, 2019

LSAT is technically the entrance examination for law courses in the United States. LSAT India is an unique version of LSAT, for admission in India. It is administered by Law School Admission Council. LSAT India has 2 Logical Reasoning sections,, one Analytical Reasoning and another Reading Comprehension section. Unlike the original LSAT, there are no experimental sections and no writing sample. Therefore, LSAT India is of lesser duration than that of LSAT. For more information on LSAT, please visit their official website at: https://www.manhattanreview.com/lsat-info/ and https://www.manhattanreview.com/lsat-india/

Hello,

There's no upper age limit for law, also you can pursue it after your graduation, which will be LLB for a duration of three years. So, if you don't want to go for integrated law program for a five years duration, you can skip that. If you choose to do LLB, you will also have enough time in your graduation to get well acquainted with law as a subject.

Anyway, coming to LSAT exam

LSAT exam consists of following sections -

Logical reasoning - This section will test candidates understanding to structure of relationships and to draw logical conclusions about that structure. In this section,a set of statements and rules or principles that describe relationships among persons, things, or events will be given. Analytical Reasoning questions reflect the kinds of complex analyses that a law student performs in the course of legal problem solving. This tests candidate's ability to understand the structure of relationships and draw logical conclusions about the same.

Analytical reasoning - In each question of logical reasoning, candidates will be required to read and comprehend a short passage followed by answering the questions. The questions here will assess a wide range of skills involved in thinking critically, with an emphasis on skills that are central to legal reasoning and drawing conclusions.

Reading comprehension - This contains four sets of reading questions, each consisting of a selection of reading material, followed by four to nine questions that test reading and reasoning abilities. Here, the candidate's ability to read and understand will be tested.

LSAT paper consists of 96 questions in mcq format with total being 100 marks, there's no negative marking, the paper is conducted in offline mode for a duration of 2 hours 20 minutes.

Hello dear,

Your chances seems to be less to get admission under lsat. the seat also depends on the category which you have not mentioned. however it will difficult to get admission even if you belong to st category. it would be better if go for other college.

Hope this would help you.

Ive got 58 percentile in lsat . Which good colleges can I expect ?

abhikshaw100_9176398 Student Expert 18th Jun, 2019

Hey Sahil,

The cutoffs of LSAT 2019 are yet to be declared by Pearson VUE.The cutoffs differ every year amd it is difficult to predict the cutoffs.

Now with the percentile you have scored you hardly expect admission in the best colleges accepting LSAT score.Fot the best law schools a candidate need to score more than 90 percentile.

Check this link for more information https://law.careers360.com/articles/lsat-india.

Thank you.

What is percentile rank, in lsat paper??

S. Saha Student Expert 3rd Jul, 2019
Percentile rank is reported for each LSAT score, reflecting the percentage of candidates scoring below your reported test score. While the LSAT Scaled Score is based on the specific LSAT test that you wrote, the LSAT Percentile for a score is based on the distribution of scores for the three-year period prior to the year in which the score is reported. Your percentile rank tells you the percentage of scaled scores in the last three years that your score beats.

For example if your LSAT Scaled Score is 157 you will have a percentile rank of approximately 75% meaning that your Scaled Score of 157 is better than 75% of the LSAT Scaled Scores for the last three years. The Percentile Scores below are the scores for the period from June, 2006 to February 2009. They include the statistical analysis of 429,816 LSAT scores over this 3 year period. Actual percentile rankings on your LSAT may vary slightly.
