Yaseera Bhombal 30th Oct, 2021
Hi Young Aspirant,
Being a life science student, you have a plethora of opportunities in future as it is a budding field.
I would suggest you to apply for a Master's Degree after your Graduation.
Even for Master's Degree there are many prestigious entrance examinations like
IIT-JAM(BT)
TIFR
JNU
Different University Entrance Examinations.

After completion of Master's qualifying one of the following examinations will help you land up into either a research based job or a PhD if you are willing to pursue it.
The examinations are
GATE(BT,XL)
TIFR
ICMR-NET
CSIR-NET
ICAR-NET
DBT-JRF
and many others.

Hope that answers your question.

Best of Luck!!

which college os better for BSc.life Sciences. Sei Aurobindo , Kalindi or Shivaji ? on the basis of faculty, placements and co-+curricular activities.

Tanya Gupta 24th Jan, 2022

Hi,

Sri Aurobindo is the best college for BSc. Life Science on the basis of infrastructure, faculty, placements and also curricular activies. The infrastructure is good and there are labs, library and good classrooms. Teachers are very experienced and qualified here and they have  good knowledge about their subjects. They are very humble and solve all your problems. Every year there is college fests and many inter college competitions for art, dance, singing, etc. There are a lot seminars that take place here. When it comes to placements, the highest salary package offered is 9 LPA and the lowest is 3 LPA. The average being 5 LPA. The college has an overall good rating by the students who have studied from here.

is there any disadvantage of choosing msc microbiology after completing bsc life sciences?

Nitin Mereddy 22nd Sep, 2021

Microbiology is not usually considered as a field where you get a degree and secure a job. This subject mostly aims on research, to discover new techniques which could lead to betterment of our daily life. Its vast field can take you to any sectors such as pharmaceuticals, bio-remediation, agriculture, food and beverage industries etc. You can opt for a job in these sectors or can choose academic line where you can do a PhD or post doc. and get a teaching position in any university or can join as a research fellow in one of the various organisations or even in private labs. You can choose medical line where you could be appointed in a diagnostic lab. You will never be able to outrun your career options, being a student of microbiology.

Coming to another part of your query, benefit of doing MSc. Post graduation in any stream will take a student to further depth of knowledge that one can never imagine as an undergraduate student. To emerge successful in your job, you will need to apply your post graduation knowledge every now and then. Here you will be more eligible than other competitors who have applied for the same job position with an undergraduate degree.
