Did ipu get permission for 3 year llb programme

SUKRITI GUPTA 4th Apr, 2025

Greetings! Here's a detailed response to your query

Based on the information available, here's what I can tell you about Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) and its 3-year LLB program:

Right now, they offer those longer, five-year law degrees, you know, the ones where you combine a regular bachelor's with law, like BA LLB or BBA LLB.

They've also said they want to start a three-year law program, which would be for people who already have a regular bachelor's degree and want to go into law. But here's the catch – they need to get the thumbs-up from the Bar Council of India, which is like the official group that says who can and can't teach law, and maybe some other places too.

So, if they get the go-ahead, this three-year program would be open to anyone who's already graduated and wants to become a lawyer. That means you could have a degree in history, science, or whatever, and still apply.

The most important thing is to keep an eye on what GGSIPU says officially. They'll be the ones to announce when, or if, this program gets approved. Don't trust rumors or random websites; go straight to the university's official pages. They'll have the correct and most current information. Basically, they want to start this program, but they’re waiting for the green light.

I hope this helps.

Did ipu get permission for 3 year llb programme

Rubina Naseer 29th Mar, 2025

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) has proposed introducing a 3-year LLB program starting from the 2025-26 academic session . However, this plan is still pending approval from the required statutory bodies, such as the Bar Council of India (BCI) and the university's governing authorities.

Current Law Programs at GGSIPU:

  • At present, the university offers only 5-year integrated law programs , including BA LLB and BBA LLB .

  • These courses are designed for students who wish to pursue law directly after completing their 12th grade .

Purpose of the 3-Year LLB Program:

  • The introduction of the 3-year LLB is aimed at graduates from any discipline who wish to pursue a career in law .

  • This program provides an alternative for students who were unable to opt for the 5-year integrated law course earlier but now want to enter the legal field .

Admission Process (Expected):

  • Once approved, the admission process will likely be conducted through an entrance exam or a merit-based selection .

  • Candidates must have completed their undergraduate degree in any discipline from a recognized university .

Final Note:

Since approval is still awaited, aspirants should keep checking for official announcements regarding admissions, eligibility criteria, and entrance exam details.

Hi I am Priyanka currently I am in second year doing my graduation complete I want to know how to take admission in llb

Prachi Kumari 25th Mar, 2025

Hello Priyanka !

To take admission in LLB after graduation , follow these steps:

1. You need at least 50% marks (varies by college).

2. Since you are graduating, you are eligible for the 3-year LLB course.

3. Appear for Entrance Exams – Some popular exams are:

  • CLAT PG (for some universities)

  • LSAT India

  • DU LLB (Delhi University)

  • MH CET Law (for Maharashtra colleges)

  • PU LLB (Panjab University)

4. After clearing the entrance exam, apply to universities offering LLB courses.

5. Based on your rank, choose a college and complete admission formalities.

You can also check private universities that offer direct admission without an entrance exam.

Hope it helps !
