I hv cleared JNUEE for MA History. Does that mean my admission is sure when my bachelors percentage is 80?

Anirudh Bhat 1st Jul, 2019
Hi Kajal,
Jawaharlal Nehru University is a really good and reputed institute of India. this university offers BDS undergraduate and postgraduate level courses for the students. Speaking about masters in history, the minimum eligibility is a 50% aggregate in a bachelor's degree, plus 1 clearance in the JNU exam. Since I've already clear the JNU exam and you have a percentage above 75 percent I guess you should easily get into MA in History.

What are some harsh sides of doing MA(sociology) ?

Sourav Sarkar Student Expert 29th Jun, 2019

Hi dear,

Hope you are doing well!

Now let's go through your question.

It is very hard out there just now. The truth is that no one with any kind of degree is going to walk into a job. I don't believe sociology is non-vocational, simply that it equips you for most vocations.

The problem with vocational courses is that economic sectors wax and wane. A degree in tourism and hospitality is fine until the currency fluctuates or the summer is washed out, or the regional development agency closes down.

But having transferable analytical skills allows you to move between sectors, making connections between the different situations that you've studied and spotting patterns. So sociology is extremely good for a career in business, probably better than business studies in fact.

Thank You & All the best!

If I have 2 options: MCA or MA(sociology) what should I choose? Depending on future requirements and growth?

saumyash9_6665013 Student Expert 29th Jun, 2019

greetings,

obviously i would reccomend you to go for MCA. it is a professional degree and has tremendous career opportunities.

you can become a teacher, professor, and a technical expert in a top MNC.

sociology has no career options in the corporate world. other options are also limited.

hope this helps.

good luck

Sir 12 th ma ek bar math sa exm de deya hu leken mere ko neet karna hae ab Kay kare

vartika tomar 28th Jun, 2019

Hello aspirant

Thanks for asking this question .I understood your concerns but I am sorry to say that in cbse board once you have given your 12th boards and passed them too it isn't possible to repeat that in any cost .But in case you are from state boards the rules and regulations can vary from one state to another.

Also mcc guidelines tell us that for NEET you need to pass 12th with biology , hence you can't give NEET.

All the best
