Since you have not mentioned the name of the University you have applied to and secured this particular rank, I can only answer you with my guesswork. If the University has around 70 plus seats, then your chance of getting admission is low but there is still some hope. You might get in the third round of counselling if there is any. If there are around 100 or more seats, then your chances are a bit better.

Hi, unfortunately, determining cut offs/rank is quite a difficult process they change every year depending on no. of seats avaialble, no. of applicants seeking admission and appearing for the entrance exam, difficulty level on the entrance paper and the subsequent result. So if you have scored marks around 200 then you'll easily get admission to the course in the main campus. 

The cut off percentage for general category and OBC is 35%

Hi, I would like to inform you that this year the cut off percentage for general category in BHU entrance exam was 35%, which 126 marks out of 360. As you have scored marks less than 126, then unfortunately your chances of being called for further counselling aren't much.

It would be diffuct to provide you with definite cut off rank as the the cutoffs that are set are based on certain factors like the number of applicants, number of seats available in the course, past cut off treand, difficulty level of the entrance exam etc. but last year the cut off rank for M.A Economics was 596 for general category

As per your query I would like to tell with your this Ranks quite impossible to getting admission in Ma political science.The numbers of seats available in master course is  about 70 seats,so through under general category taking admission is not possible.

Under st category, when the all St  36 ranker are fight under general category for admission.then admission is possible through St category.

As you have not mentioned any University here about which you want to get details of, i would assume you are asking for BHU? If that's not the case please, do let me know. So, coming back to your question, given by the past cut offs in the BHU for the MA in political science, i don't think it will be possible for you to get admission with 257 OBC rank, however cut offs change every year, so you never know, hope for the best.
