Hey there, I am a law aspirant. i just gave my mhcet law 5 year exam i scored good enough to get into GLC MUMBAI. But after doing some research i found out that many people are believing that MNLU will be in the countrys list of top 5 NLUS. So shall I go for MNLU (NLU TAG) or is glc better?

ojaswiyolo Student Expert 20th Dec, 2020

Hello

Here I will give you a gist of both the colleges from where it stands as of now (in 2020) so that it can get easier for y ou to decide which one suits your interest more.

GOvernment Law College, Maharashtra- Has been ranked 11 for law by The Week. In the past few years only 10 to 15% of the students get placed but the highest package goes up to 6 lpa but the placement committee is working hard to improve the conditions (though they have not officially revelaed placement records). The libraray here is good but the overall infrastructure, not so much. The faculty is excellent, highly knowledgeable and easily approachable as they are very friendly. There are many clubs like  SPIL , ADR cell, MUNSOC, MCA, and DEBSOC (debating society).

MNLU- Ranked 15 for NLUs by CLAT cutoff. The university was formed recently and there has not been any batch as of now that has graduated hence there are no placement records but it is expected that the placement cell will function just fine providing around 6 lpa average salary. The campus is temporary as of now and no permanent campus has been created but they provide flats and single room hostels for the students with mess facilities along with gym, swimming pool, volleyball court and basketball court. As far as the faculty is concerned there are ex-professors of NUJS, NLUJAA, Nalsar, GNLU and NLIU and a number of guest lecturers are invited  every now and then. The curriculum is similar to that of  NALSAR Hyderabad.

If I were in your shoes, I would have gone to both the places and talked to the faculty as well as the students there to get a btter idea as it is a matter of your future. However, if I were to judge by the looks of it I would have gone with MNLU (personal choice).

I appeared for Mhcet law 3 year llb exam this November. I got a rank of 79. And marks 105. The highest this year is 118. I am a Maharashtra Candidate. Can you Please tell me what are my chances to get into GLC? And if i can, can you also tell me which list?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 6th Dec, 2020

You haven't mentioned your Category, Nevertheless, in 2019, the cut off for Government Law College, Mumbai had an Opening rank of 144. This a score of 129. And the closing rank was 127 and the score was 91. You can check that at: https://law.careers360.com/articles/mh-cet-law-cut-off.But this is 2019 data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs depend on the no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, college preferences, seat intake, top score and Category of the Candidate. For example, 36,000 Candidates appeared for 3 year LLB Programme this year. And this number was different last year. We do not have any merit list per se. But going by previous years data, with a rank of 79 and a score of 105 you might have a decent chance at Government Law College, Mumbai. There are 300 seats available for admission to Government Law College, Mumbai. And ideally a rank under 100 if you belong to General Category, you do have decent chances for a seat in Government Law College, Mumbai. But please do remember that this is based on previous years data.

Tamajit Biswas Student Expert 14th Sep, 2020

Hi Aspirant,

I understand that you have made some errors while filling out the application form of MHCET for BA. LLB course and so to answer your question, you can check the official website of MHCET to check for notifications regarding the availability of a correction window. If there is any provision of a correction window then I would advise you to make the necessary corrections during the designated time.

If there is no option of a correction window then you should inform the competent authorities if MHCET over mail and post while stating the discrepancies categorically and also mentioning the corrections and also do request them to expedite the entire process.

BEST WISHES!

how many marks required in mhcet law 5 year to get ILS pune in obc category??

Sreeja Siva 15th Oct, 2020

Hi,

In previous years candidates who scored  around 70-120 in MHCET were considered for admissions in ILS Pune. The cut off may vary every year based on various factors such as number of candidates appeared and qualified in exam, number of seats available, difficulty of exam and so on. The cut off also varies for different institutes. In previous years the cut off of ILS Pune is comparatively high. To know more about previous year cut off trends please refer the following article

how many marks required for mh cet law 5 year in ILS law college pune in obc category??and also firodia college marks

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 15th Oct, 2020

There are approximately 240 seats for 5 year LLB in ILS. So if you belong to OBC Category, you will need atleast 110 and above. For DES Navalmal Firodia College, you will need atleast 120. This is based on previous years data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top score and difficulty of the exam.

Pankhuri Kumari 26th Sep, 2020
Hii!
Yes, students from all over India can apply into the Jamia Islamia Medical Institute, there's no restriction for any state. But, the eligibility criteria and the NEET score matter for getting a seat. Jamia Islamia is a deemed university which is government funded. Also, there are different eligibility criterias for different courses. So, check it out, before applying. Basic requirement is passing class 12 wih minimum 55% marks in the relevant subjects from a recognised Board of Education.
Hope this helps.
