Mhtcet weightage of per chapter

Akansha Sharma 14th Apr, 2025

In MHT CET, questions come from both Class 11 and 12 syllabus, with more weight given to Class 12 chapters (about 80%) and the rest from Class 11 (around 20%). Every subject—Physics, Chemistry, and Math/Biology—has important chapters. For example, Class 12 topics like Electrostatics, Organic Chemistry, and Calculus carry more questions. While the exact weightage can change slightly every year, focusing more on Class 12 topics and practicing previous year papers can help you score better.

In my mht cet Admit card in candidate name only my name and surname is there but in my aadhar card there is my name then my father name and then surname so is it a problem

kumardurgesh1802 13th Apr, 2025

Hello Deepak,

No, it’s usually not a big problem if your MHT CET admit card has only your name and surname , while your Aadhaar card includes your father’s name in the middle .

This is a common issue, and exam authorities generally accept it as long as:

  • The name and surname on both documents match correctly.

  • There’s no spelling mistake or major difference.

  • Your photo and other details clearly identify you.

    What You Can Do:

  1. Carry a supporting ID proof like Aadhaar, school/college ID, or PAN card.

  2. Inform the exam invigilator beforehand at the exam center if you’re unsure.

  3. If you still feel doubtful, you can call MHT CET helpdesk and explain your situation.

But most students face similar name format differences, and it doesn’t usually affect your exam eligibility. Just stay calm and carry valid ID proof.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, then feel free to share your questions with us, we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.

In SPIT mumbai after doing a polytechnic diploma course do I have to give any entrance exams like JEE mains or MHTCET to pursue b.tech in CSE through lateral entry

Aman Kar 14th Apr, 2025

It's important to clarify that when discussing dentistry programs at Government Dental College (GDC) Indore, there's a distinction between the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and postgraduate programs like the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS). There are not "diploma in dentistry" courses offered in the same way that other disciplines offer diplomas. Here's a breakdown:

BDS (Bachelor of Dental Surgery):

  • This is the undergraduate dental degree.
  • To be eligible for BDS at GDC Indore, you must:
    • Have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) as core subjects.
    • Qualify in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG).
    • Meet the age criteria.
  • Admission is based on NEET-UG scores and counseling.

Recommendations:

· Check Official Sources: Always refer to the official website of GDC Indore and the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for the most accurate and up-to-date information on admissions.

· NEET -UG: Focus on preparing for the NEET-UG exam, as this is crucial for BDS admission.

Hope this helps !

In SPIT mumbai after doing a polytechnic diploma course do I have to give any entrance exams like JEE mains or MHTCET to pursue b.tech in CSE through lateral entry

Saurabh Yadav 13th Apr, 2025

Hii,

If you've completed a polytechnic diploma and are considering pursuing a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) through lateral entry at Sardar Patel Institute of Technology (SPIT) Mumbai, here's what you need to know:

Lateral Entry Admission at SPIT Mumbai

SPIT offers a 3-year B.E. in Computer Engineering program specifically designed for diploma holders seeking lateral entry into the second year of the undergraduate program

Entrance Exam Requirements

Admission to the lateral entry program typically requires candidates to have a valid score in the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test (MHT CET) . While the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main is a common entrance exam for engineering programs, SPIT primarily considers MHT CET scores for its admissions

Admission Process

  1. Eligibility : Candidates must have completed a diploma in engineering or technology with a minimum required percentage as specified by the institute.

  2. Entrance Exam : Appear for and secure a qualifying score in the MHT CET.

  3. Application : Apply through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell, Maharashtra.

  4. Counseling and Seat Allotment : Participate in the counseling process, where seats are allocated based on merit and preferences.

Additional Information

  • Institute-Level Quota : SPIT reserves a certain percentage of seats under the institute-level quota. Admission under this quota may have different criteria and is managed directly by the institute .

  • Fees : The total tuition fee for the 3-year lateral entry program is approximately 4.57 lakh

Should I give mhtcet as an other state student? Is it worth it even if I get 99.5 pr?

Vedant Rathi 11th Apr, 2025

Hi aspirant,

  • It depends on whether you want to study in Maharashtra as a student from another state. The MH CET (Maharashtra Common Entrance Test) is organized for courses such as engineering, pharmacy, and agriculture. If you are from another state, you can take the exam under the All-India quota.
  • A score of 99.5 percentile in MH CET is excellent and can help you secure admission to any top government or private college. However, there are limits on the number of seats available for All India quota students.
  • If you are planning to pursue engineering, you should consider taking the JEE Mains instead of the MH CET. Scoring in the 95+ percentile in JEE Mains can also qualify you for top IITs or NITs in Maharashtra or even in your home state.

kumardurgesh1802 22nd Apr, 2025

Hello there,

Don’t worry too much. If your disability type falls under Locomotor Disability and you have a valid government-issued certificate showing 50% disability , your eligibility for PwD reservation remains valid.

Here’s what you should do now:

  1. Keep Trying to Contact CET Cell: Continue emailing and also try calling the MHT CET helpline regularly. Sometimes it takes a few days to respond.

  2. Visit the CET Office Personally (if possible): If you live nearby, visiting the CET cell in person with your documents might help speed things up.

  3. Carry Correct Documents During Verification: During the counselling and admission process , you will go through document verification . At that time, show your correct disability certificate. You can also clarify the sub-category mismatch there. They usually consider the official certificate over what’s mistakenly filled online.

  4. Keep All Proofs Ready: Save all emails you’ve sent and replies (if any), and keep a copy of your certificate and application form safe for verification.

Minor sub-category errors like this generally do not lead to disqualification if your certificate is correct and valid. Just be ready to explain and correct it at the right time during counselling.

I hope this answer helps you. If you have more queries, feel free to share your questions with us, and we will be happy to assist you.

Thank you, and I wish you all the best in your bright future.
