Samyak Jain 23rd Jun, 2026

Hello Dear Student,
With a 66 percentile in MHT CET PCM, securing a CS or IT seat in top-tier colleges will be challenging. However, you have excellent chances of admission for core branches (Mechanical, Civil, ENTC) in reputable engineering colleges across Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar (Aurangabad), Maharashtra.

I have scored 40 %tile engg. in my 2nd attempt of mhtcet (which I know is not good at all) & from NT 3 category so please can you suggest me a good cllg in mumbai suburban/thane/pune or in such vicinity with any stream ( cllg>>stream)

Ananya Hira 20th Jun, 2026

First, don't panic about the 40 percentile. Since you're from the NT-3 (GNT3) category , you can get better options than an Open-category student with the same percentile, especially in lower-demand branches and during later CAP/Institute rounds.

Also, your priority "College > Branch" is actually sensible if you're not fixed

I wanted to get into ICT. I scored only 94.7 in my mhtcet exam. How likely am i to get in? i am open to any branch available however my first preference would be chemical engineering or surface coating technology.

Samyak Jain 22nd Jun, 2026

With a 94.7 percentile in MHT CET, admission to the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) Mumbai for Chemical Engineering is highly unlikely for an Open category candidate.  The expected cutoff for Chemical Engineering at ICT is approximately 99.45–99.55 percentile , which is significantly higher than your score

My daughter has got 99.67 percentile in MHCET and might secure a seat in electronics in COEP and VJTI. She has also got a seat alloted in IIIT Pune for electronics and VIT Vellore in electronics vlsi design I would like to know out of the four ie COEP VJTI IIIT Pune and VIT Vellore which should I prefer for electronics specifically for vlsi semiconductor. I am confused between COEP VJTI and VIT Vellore as IIIT Pune is still a newer institute and is on the outskirts of Pune City.

Samyak Jain 22nd Jun, 2026

Hello Dear Student,

For a student specifically interested in Electronics, VLSI, and Semiconductors , my preference order would be:

  1. Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (Electronics)
  2. College of Engineering Pune (Electronics)
  3. Vellore Institute of Technology (Electronics and VLSI Design)
  4. Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune (ECE)

Why?

  • VJTI and COEP have a
