Whatever maybe the case, there are two ways you can do the corrections:

1. Either you should go and checkout at your respective education board or the place of your publication and contact the authority present there. You must get your mark sheet corrected if it is under provision.

2. Or else, Go to an advocate present at your local judiciary and issue a affidavit for your name. this affidavit will be a proof that wrong spell mark sheets belongs to you and it can be used anywhere.

The board percentage are not considered while allocating the rank but it is taken into account as the eligibility criteria
But there is eligibility criteria for admissions- you need to score at least 50% in Physics,Chemistry and Mathematics in all(45% for reserved category aspirants) like SC/St.

Himanshu, the registration for Maharashtra HSC board 2020 for private candidates was conducted in online mode from 24 to 31 October 2019 on their official website. Students could also register with a late fee till 8 November 2019. Although no further registrations were allowed. So you would not be able to fill the form for HSC board 2020 now.

A failed student can't give improvement exam. They have to go through separate private exam.

One more important thing is that improvement exam is for those students who are passed in all subjects but scored relatively low marks. You can give improvement of only two subjects. But in case of fail candidate you have to give all exams.
