Library and Information Science (LIS)  is an interdisciplinary field that applies the practice and tools of management, information technology, education, and other areas related to libraries, collection, organisation, preservation and dissemination of information resources. The librarianship has the status of a separate discipline. They play a vital role in organizing, maintaining and storing books in libraries. The traditional libraries which contained only books now have periodicals, journals, micro-films, audio-videos, cassettes and slides for various purposes such as education, research, reference and pleasure. It also includes archival science which deals with how information is acquired, evaluated and applied by people in and outside of libraries with the implementation of computer technology used in the documentation and record management. 

The career in library science includes areas like library and information systems management, classification and cataloguing systems, bibliography, documentation, preservation and conservation of manuscript, collection management, information systems and technologies, research methodology, computer application, reference, statistics and management, indexing, library planning, etc. It is an interesting subject and provides a great opportunity to have the knowledge of wide variety of information sources. 

Eligibility Criteria: 

The minimum qualification required to undertake bachelors in library science is 12th passed from a recognized board of India. 

Graduates from any branch can go for Bachelors degree in Library Science. 

Employment and Opportunities: 

As India is moving towards a knowledge society with proliferation of learning and research Institutes, the demand for library science is growing rapidly with a higher aspect of job opportunities. It is also a UGC approved university located in Moradabad, it offers a course in Bachelor of Library and Information Science, Master in Library and Information Science as well as a Diploma Degree in Library and Information Science.

• The labs are better than other colleges and students can practice a lot in labs. 
• The maximum faculty are guest faculty. All faculty members are B.tech or M.tech holders.
• The placements of the university are very low. A few students get a job on campus placements with a salary package of approximately 3 LPA.

• The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. The labs are better than other colleges and students can practice a lot in labs. The classrooms are also good with a proper ventilation but are not air-conditioned.

Hi Raghvendra, you can change your branch from chemical to electrical after completing your 1st year with minimum 70% marks. Then, you can request your college for it. If there is any vacant seat in electrical branch then they will surely do it.

It depends on the number of seats left in the counsilling and number of the students left below your rank. If the seats are left then you can get this college.
