It is very difficult to tell that a PCM student can opt genetic engineering. It will mainly depend on the University or the College where you want to pursue. And also it is very difficult for a student to do genetic engineering without biology in their 12th.

Sorry to say but your question is not clear to me. You are a student of BTech in civil engineering. Then your main subject ofcourse the civil subject and mathematics. So if you want to appear any examination your major subject should be your civil subject. Whether you didn't

The exam conducting authorities will be conducting IISER 2021 admission through three channels - JEE, SCB and KVPY. IISER aptitude test 2021 will be conducted for admission through SCB channel while KVPY and JEE Advanced qualified applicants will not be required to appear for the exam.
