Yes, you can appear in JEE Main 2018 but you can't take seat in NIT you will be eligible for only IITs.

Biotechnology at MNNIT is really good in comparison of any other NITs .You can get placed here too if you have potential .Now in some years core-companies also started come for campus placement .However I suggest you choose Biotech only if you have interest for research in future as it is a field of research .
