• the maximum rank with which a candidate has taken admission in the college, or
• the maximum rank a candidate must have to be eligible for counselling and admission in a particular college or the participating institutes of a particular exam.

There will be colleges which provide seats in theirs without being qualified in aiapget entrance exam but may you have reached atleast the border of qualification so that they can easily or more convieniently chose you for the management quota seats but its better if you have passed the exam
