124 is a low score and chances in the state counseling are remote. But, if there is a mop up round, she may have a slight chance. For that you need to wait for the couselling to be over and if seats are remaining Mop Up rounds would be conducted.

And you can go ahead for it 

Both exam have relative levels of complexity, but if your aim is for BK then you can give CMAT

According to the IIM admission criteria 2018-20, candidates appearing for CAT 2017 must have a Bachelor's Degree with at least 50 per cent marks (for General category) and 45 Percent (for SC, ST and PWD category) or equivalent CGPA from any recognised university.
