Manipal Academy of Higher Education, Manipal
Dear aspirant,
If I had to consider only on the basis of reasearch then according to me bsc or BTech and then you should apply for gate if you really want to go all out in research field. But if not then bsc+msc would be a better option.
Coming to the choice of college part, see in terms of research and its outreach srm,vit vellore and manipal are far better than sathyabama ,amrita and Ramachandra University.
So, you can choose any college between these three as it would be beneficial for you in the long term goal.

As per the information available online, I would arrange them in the following order(here the course structure and the greater possibility of getting a job is considered):
If you are aspiring to do job after your bachelors then go for BTech courses and if you aspire to go for research or advanced studies then I would say BS-MS is more preferable. If you want to study MS from different institute then you can go for BS.
** This is based on observations and information available. Before taking decision you should personally check all the colleges and decide remembering the facts provided.
I hope this answer helps. All the very best for your future endeavors!
Dear student,
It is better to study B.Tech rather than studing B.Sc. S tudying B.Tech Biotechnology in SRM University is better than studying B.Tech in Satyabhama University. It is because SRM University is good for Placements and it is a reputed University. Infrastructure facilities are also good. So it better to study B.Tech rather than studing B.Sc Biotechnology in Vellore Institute of Technology or Amrita University or Manipal University. Placements are good for B.Tech Biotechnology than B.Sc Biotechnology. B.Tech degree has more scope than B.Sc. With just B.Sc in Biotechnology you cannot get good job with decent package you should do Masters to get better salary and better job. But if you do B.Tech Biotechnology then you can find many jobs and even Campus Placements.
Hope this helps.
Hello,
The campus in Bangalore in Manipal College of Health Professions and it does not offer B.Tech Biotechnology. The preferred course is offered in Manipal Institute of Technology, Manipal. The admission is based on merit in Manipal Entrance Test (MET) conducted by the University and the eligibility criteria is that a candidate must have passed 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Mathematics and English as compulsory subjects along with any of Chemistry / Biotechnology / Biology / any technical vocational subject as optional from a recognized Board, with minimum 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Mathematics and any one of the optional subjects mentioned above taken together.
Hi,
If you are considering research to be your path for life them you should opt for academic degree courses that is Bsc, msc and then further PhD in biotechnology rather than choosing btech which is more technical in nature and is a professional degree course. In terms of ranking or preference, all the listed colleges are more or less the same cause all of them are private ones with decent labs and faculty available.
I hope thai helps.
All the best.
Both universities are very good. Manipal University is NAAC aggregate grade A college and other hand SRM University also NAAC aggregate grade A++ college.
Now come to your course. BSC Biotechnology is 3 years bachalor of Science course. BTech Biotechnology is 4 years engineering degree course. In between this two for research purposes you can choose BTech Biotechnology. Because this course open up so many chances in future study as well as job. Now choice is totally yours.
As per my views I would judge these colleges on the basis of few factors which includes placements, infrastructure, faculty.
So, I would suggest you do BTech from srm University as the placement scenario is better here with the faculty staff. The infrastructure is also very good. All facilities will be provided here. Same goes for bsc manipal.
Incase youre inclined more towards research and academia, less towards industry, I may suggest you to prefer first pursuing a M.Sc/MS from some of the Top Higher Technical Institutions in India like Top IITs, IISc Bangalore, CSIR, IISERs, etc and have a strong 2 year research experience and projects to yourself, after B.Sc. from VIT/Manipal.
After MS/MSc from these Top Indian Institutions, you may easily get into some of the QS Top 100 Universities abroad for PhD. Incase you prefer Research, R&D as well as Academia Roles abroad, in most of the Countries Doctorate is a must., and itll be definitely beneficial to you, as in Countries like US, you have a Fully Funded PhD Program for most of the Universities, with a Stipend, Health Insurance and Accomodation Costs taken care by the University.
