sorry based on the cut-off trend for year 2016 the closing rank for ece was 4954 so there is only slight chance for you to secure a seat, but you could apply for various other disciplines like eee and ice. you have a fair chance to convert them.

For the first round of counselling, the candidates will have to select their preferred choice of counselling venue.

Both the colleges are good if seen from different perspectives but i would suggest you to go to manipal university as it is better both in terms of faculty and exposure.
