Anurag Khanna 3rd Jun, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Out of the two mentioned percentiles, best percentile is 70 percentile for you but you are not going to get any good college with even 70 percentile because with 70 percentile your rank might be somewhere around 306900 - 345000 , you can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

Or

You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

Now it is recommended that you should prepare for upcoming attempts and make a target of at least 96+ percentile for NITs/IIITs if you belongs to General category. And if you are aiming GFTIs then your percentile should be at least 80+. So as you have mentioned that your chemistry portion is weak so what you can do to improve it is just make out the checklist and enlist down the topics of chemistry that seems difficult to you and then start working on it, go through some video lectures, read about those topics and then solve some questions on it, this will definitely improve your Chemistry portion and for other portions as well, you should start solving previous year question papers and sample papers of JEE-Main to get best practice and don't wait for the announcement of fresh dates of examination, because after that you won't get much time for preparation.

You can also check out the JEE-Main complete learner's solution from the link given below :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

My march percentile is 90.24. Is it possible for me to get 99 percentile in next attempt in 2021?

Palak kumari 2nd Jun, 2021

Hey aspirant,

That totally depends upon your hard work, dedication and focused mind. If you are still determined about your goals then of course you can get your percentile increased by the next year. So, it totally depends upon you. But if you want to take admission this year then on 90 percentile also you may get some of them. For that please refer to the cutoff link mentioned below-

https://www.google.com/amp/s/engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff/amp

But yes, if you are determined about your goals then nobody can stop you from scoring 99 percentile next time.

Hope it helps.

Good luck.

I got 88 percentile in jee main 2021 in obc category

Sharon Rose Student Expert 31st May, 2021

Hello,

With the given percentile the overall expected rank will be in between 122760 - 138000. The category rank will be around 30000. With such rank you may not get seat in NITs/IIITs/GFTIs based on previous year cut off trends for the said institutes. If you wish to join in NIT/IIIT/GFTI then you should appear for JEE Main upcoming session and score minimum 96-98 percentile to get seat in NIT/IIIT/GFTI. You still hold chances of getting seat in the colleges accepting JEE Main score such as

  • Mahatma Education Society's Pillai College of Engineering, New Panvel: Information Technology
  • Rewa Engineering College, Rewa (REC): EE
  • Dr. D.Y.Patil Institute of Engineering, Management & Reseach, Akurdi, Pune: Artificial Intelligence and Data Science
  • Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust's Pimpri Chinchwad College Of Engineering And Research, Ravet : Electronics and Telecommunication Engg

These are the colleges in which you may get seat based on previous year cut off. However, cut off in 2021 is subjected to change and it may increase or decrease depending on the total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of exam and total number of seats available etc.

Sir/Mam I got 79.14 percentile in jee mains march and I am from St category. Can I get a good branch in NIT Jamshedpur?

Anurag Khanna 10th Jul, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2020 then according to the percentile mentioned by you in the question your CRL rank is expected to be in the range of 213398 - 239890 , you can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

Or

You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-

Closing ST rank for NIT Jamshedpur was :-

  • Production and Industrial Engineering branch - 3382 (Other state quota)
  • Production and Industrial Engineering branch - 4938 (Home state quota)

Above branch is the branch having lowest cut-off rank in NIT Jamshedpur and there are very less chances for you to get into it then good branches would not be possible for such rank even after category reservation because your ST rank is expected to be around 10,000-11,000.

But yes if you improve your percentile in any further session of JEE-Main like around 90+ then you might have a shot for good branches at NIT Jamshedpur.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

Sir my mark in jeemains 16 March shift 2 is 184 can I get nit trichy in general or in home state quota..? and also pls tell my rank and percentile..... ? pls tell me faster

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 8th Jul, 2021

Hi

Your profile suggests that your home state is Tamil nadu so you will be eligible for home state for NIT Trichy .

March session results are already out, please refer your result for your exact percentile

With 184 marks

It is quite difficult to make prediction but yes as per past year trend , you hold a very good chance to get a seat in NIT Trichy

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, 17694   rank for general category for gender neutral  for home state got a seat in Mechanical Engineering in National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli

Even if you don't have home state then also you hold good chance in nit Trichy .

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020,  20809 rank for general category for gender neutral  for other state got a seat in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology) in National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

This prediction is on the past year data basis but  cut closing rank for colleges changes every year depending upon factors like number of candidates that write jee main examination, difficulty level of the question paper for different shifts of jee main etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

I had 88.56 percentile in March session in jee mains .can I get a chance to write her advanced

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 27th May, 2021

Hi

Which category do you belong to?

Whether you can appear for JEE advanced 2020 or not depends upon jee main qualifying cut off

It's quite difficult to predict JEE mains qualifying cutoff to be eligible for JEE advanced examination as it keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like :-

*number of students that appeared in the  jee main exam,

*kind of marks obtained by them ,

*toughness level of the jee main examination for different shift etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then

JEE mains 2021 expected qualifying  CUT OFF percentile to be eligible for JEE advanced  is given below for different categories on the basis of past year trends :

.                  .  JEE      MAIN CUT   OFF    PERCENTILE

Category jeemain2020 jeemain2021 expected off

General :-     90.3765335                 90-95

GEN-EWS :-  70.2435518                  70 -75

OBC-NCL :-  72.8887969                   70 -75

SC     :-           50.1760245                  50 -55

ST :-                39.0696101                  40 - 45

PwD :-            0.0618524                      1- 2

You can check the same at our page the link is provided below

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff

So,

With 88.56 percentile, your chances are low to be eligible for JEE advanced if you belong to general category but if you belong to any other category then you have very good chances to be eligible for JEE advanced exam

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below
