My jee main 18th march shift 1 score is 101 but the percentile is 80(result declared by nta).Is this okay or any grievance to be done???

Subhrajit Mukherjee 25th Mar, 2021

Such problems are addressed by quite a number of students. Now the issue which yields lower percentiles with considerably good marks is the normalization. So if the paper of the shift is easier than the others then its expected that you will get a considerably less percentile despite of having good marks. This are the procedure of normalization and the decision of hard or easier is entirely depend on the definition of NTA.

So this is a reason behind this fluctuations. I would recommend you to attempt the further session of JEE MAINS.

I hope this might help. All the very best for your future endeavors!

78 percentile in jee main 2021 March.. sc catagory student .... any nit in any low branch ????

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 25th Mar, 2021

Hi

With with 78  percentile

Your sc rank will be around 15,000.

Your profile suggest that your home state is West Bengal

But with this rank, you have extremely low chance to get a seat in any NIT

For example, In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, 7802 was closing sc rank for NIT Durgapur under home state and it was for Metallurgical and Materials Engineering .

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Even lower NITs like nit agartala , under other state quota you have very low chances . For example In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020,  9207 was closing sc rank for NIT Agartala anandvas for production engineering

For previous year cut offs of top colleges like NITs, IIITs, GFTIs , you can refer our page at :-

NITs :- https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/nits-cutoff-for-top-btech-branches

IIITs:- https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-top-iiits

GFTIs :- https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-top-gftis

Or alternately you can visit  official website of josaa at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Above prediction of colleges is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below
