Indian Maritime University conducts it's own entrance test termed as IMU-CET. On the basis of performance in this test admission is offered. Application portal is still open to apply for IMU-CET. Exams will be held in first week of june. Marine engineering is a new branch with unexplored opportunities you can definitely go for it

If a candidate freshers wishes to get an admission into Marine engineering course then the candidate should have completed his or her 12th from physics chemistry and maths. and also a candidate must require a minimum of 55% aggregate in all the subject mentioned above.

There are various Institutions which offer diploma, bachelor or master degree courses in Marine Engineering. The courses deal with the maintenance & construction of ships and other sailing vessels.For UG Courses – Minimum educational qualification of 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as a compulsory subjects is required for this course. If you completed a three year diploma in marine engineering, you can apply for UG course in marine engineering. Your age should be 17-25 years.entrance exam- JEE mains,imu cet.

Marine engineering includes the engineering of boats, ships, oil rigs and any other marine vesselor structure, as well as oceanographic engineeringor ocean engineering. Specifically, marine engineering is the discipline of applying engineering sciences, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, electronic engineering, and computer science, to the development, design, operation and maintenance of watercraft propulsion and on-board systems and oceanographic technology. It includes but is not limited to power and propulsion plants, machinery, piping, automation and control systems for marine vehicles of any kind, such as surface ships and submarines.

1-Completion of secondary examination/10th class (eligibility for diploma courses).
2-Completion of Higher Secondary examination/12th class (eligibility for UG courses)
3-Completion of B.Tech/B.E. in marine engineering (eligibility for PG courses)

The minimum elgibilty is you are required to have completed their 10+2 from the science stream, having obtained minimum 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics and 50% marks in English.
