can anyone suggest me how much I score in jee mains so I got admission in best Marine collages of India....???

You need to score more than 125 marks to get admission in NITs through JEE Main and more than 150 marks to get admission in good NITs for marine engineering.

For Btech in MERI institute for Marine Engineering Course admission shall be based on Jee Main exam.

The admission process shall remain the same in all campus of IMU.

I have 50% marks in class 12 so I can submit merchant navy form?

Yes, you can join Merchant Navy

 

Below is the eligibility criteria you can check

 

-The eligibility for joining merchant navy is finishing class 12 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. 

-Candidates have to be unmarried Indian citizens (male or female).

-Normal vision is required but glasses up to plus or minus 2.5 may be allowed.

-Admission is through an entrance followed by a screening test and a main written examination.

-After clearing the test, there is an interview and a medical test.

-You also need to complete a ship-training course prior to the employment. The course is generally short-term where the candidates are taught basic security concerns of voyaging.

If you are a mechanical engineer and wish to get a job in the merchant navy, then you can do so by becoming a marine engineer using your mechanical engineering degree.
Mechanical and marine engineering courses have several subjects in common and this makes it easier for a mechanical engineer to get an additional degree in marine and open new doors of opportunities.
A one year Graduate Marine Engineering (GME) course after mechanical engineering would give students the licence to enter merchant navy.
Eligibility criteria:

  • Graduation in BE (Mechanical) Engineering / Naval Architecture with minimum marks of 50% in final year
  • Must have minimum 50% marks in English language at 10th or 12th or in Degree Exam.
  • Must not be more than 28 years old
  • Should satisfy all health requirements that are necessary to join the merchant navy.

Some of the prominent institutes offering GME course are:
  • Academy of Maritime Education & Training, Chennai
  • Samundra Institute of Maritime Studies, Lonavala, Maharashtra
  • Vels Academy of Maritime Education and Training, Chennai

To join merchant navy after mechanical engineering one has to do 1 year GME (Graduate Marine Engineer) course. One has to apply for IMU-CET (Indian Maritime University)  to get admission in a recognized college.

You should choose a branch according to your interest and passion. If we talk about the scope in both these branches than electronics and telecommunication has more scope and placements.
