No, there is no other benefit other than low qualifying marks for a OBC category student. The OBCs are entitled to 27% reservations in public sector employment and higher education. Yes, there is a separate merit list for OBC category student.
If you go for software engineering line then at first get bachalor degree in computer science engineering course. After completing your graduation you can get a job reputed company. And a software engineer position almost same as a computer science engineer. So you can gain experience and work hard
