Difference between event management and marketing management?

Ketaki Dhotre Student Expert 18th Aug, 2021

Dear,

Event management basically involves creating, coordinating and managing the different parts of an event as managing the people responsible for each task, They walk around the event with a clip board, a walkie-talkie or head set and run around making sure everything is running smoothly. Some parts of event management (which is a very important piece of the puzzle, by the way) may include:

1. Reserving a location/working with venue management

2. Hiring Caterers

3. Negotiating contracts with vendors

4. Creating a timeline/schedule

5. Scheduling/ Managing staff for each function

6. Overseeing the entire event from start to finish

7. Collaborating With Event Planner and Event Marketing Team

Whereas on the other hand, Event Marketing involves branding the event, product or service and creating well-thought-out promotional strategies to tell the brand story and to get the word out about the event. An event can either be online like a webinar or in person like a trade show. Event marketing  also includes the experiential activities that are planned to promote the company, product or service during the event.  Event marketing happens through a variety of inbound and outbound marketing techniques with the end result of generating leads and attendance and converting prospects into new customers. Event marketing strategy is working side by side with you to help you promote your event and generate attendance.

Some parts of event marketing may include:

1. Setting Goals/ Budget For the Event

2. Creating a Marketing Timeline and Calendar

3. Leveraging Event Sponsors and Speakers

4. Planning (or hiring a web master) for ongoing  Website Optimization (Search Engine Optimization (SEO:  increasing the quality and quantity of website traffic by increasing the visibility of a website to users in a search engine like Google)

Hope this helps!

How the management quota seats in MBBS decided? Do we need to register sperately for counselling for these seats? Do private college also have management seats or only deemed universities have? which states accept only domiciled students in their private/govt. colleges?

rajeevanand843 18th Aug, 2021

Dear aspirant

In private mbbs colleges mostly there are two types of seat management/general merit seat and NRI seats. In some of State private colleges have also some government quota seats which fees are less than management quota seats in states like Karnataka,Andhra etc. Rajasthan have management quota seats in government college which fees are much higher than normal govt mbbs fees.

This management quota seats are decide by college itself or by state counselling authority.

In state like up, mp, chattisgarh, bihar, Kerala, Karnataka, tripura, some management quota seats on private colleges are open for students all over India. So you can apply to these state of you don't have domicile too.

Hope this information helps you

All the best !!

What is the management quota fees for JIIT Noida sector 62 CSE branch through board merit basis? Are their placements similar? If I am from Uttar Pradesh, Can I choose it over CSE in VIT Vellore category 3? I have no financial issue.

Anuj Kumar 26th Sep, 2021

Hi,

If you have no issues with Category 3 fees of VIT Vellore , then you should take VIT Vellore. VIT Vellore has good placement records, Campus, Rankings etc. You could get a way lot of Oppurtunities in VIT. Although JIIT is also good but VIT is better.

Thanks!!!

i got below 10000 rank and joined through management quota will i get full fee reimbursement pls tell me

Purbayan Chatterjee 17th Aug, 2021

Hi,

Answer could have been specific, if you mentioned which institute you're referring. Speaking generally, if you take admission through management quota in any institute, you're indirectly blocking a seat and therefore, academic institutions normally refrain from reimbursing the fee in such a case even if you were the topper.

However, it also depends from institute to institute and therefore, it is advisable to talk to the management team of your institute regarding it once.
