Hi

AICTE has just recently revised its rules according to which now it is not mandatory to have studied physics chemistry and mathematics to be eligible for engineering courses

But nta has already released its information brochure for JEE 2021 according to which students without maths are not eligible .

For reference, JEE main 2021 eligibility criteria is provided below

Eligibility criteria says that:-

-) Qualification required :- to be eligible for JEE mains for BE or Btech you need 10+2/equivalent qualification with Physics, mathematics and anyone of

  • Chemistry
  • or Biology
  • or Biotechnology
  • Or Technical Vocational Subject.

-) Passing year :- one is eligible for JEE main examination for consecutive three years starting from the year of appearing for 12th /equivalent examination i. e to be eligible for JEE mains 2021 you should be either appearing for 12th board exam or equivalent in 2021 or should have passed it in 2020 or 2019

-) There is no age limit to be eligible

-) there is no minimum percentage requirement to be eligible for JEE Mains, you just need to have passed your 12th

But yes,

To be eligible for NITs, IIITs, CFTIs one needs at least 75% marks in class 12th if belongs to General or OBC category or or at least 65% marks in class 12th if belongs to Sc or St category. For this year i. e 2021 this minimum percentage requirement of 75% - 65 % has been lifted off.

For detailed information about jee main eligibility criteria go through our page, the link for which is provided below

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-eligibility-criteria

So,

as of now there are no changes in JEE mains 2021 eligibility criteria and students who have not studied physics, maths i. e don't fulfill aforesaid mentioned criteria are not eligible for jee main but yes If any changes are made by NTA in JEE main eligibility criteria then it will notify so don't worry.

12th PCB additional subject math aerospace engineering paper sakta hun Ki Nahin

Aditi amrendra Student Expert 13th Mar, 2021
Hello,

The basic eligibility for pursuing an engineering (b.tech) degree in any branch is that a candidate should have passed 10+2 exam with Chemistry, Mathematics, and Physics as the compulsory subjects from a recognized university.

But recently AICTE said that students aspiring to become engineers need not have physics and mathematics as their core subjects in class 12. The rule will be applicable from the upcoming academic year 2021-22.

Hence, you  are completely eligible for engineering.

I hope this helps.

difference btwn IT and CSE ? IF my math not strong but good( 99 in 12th )?

Tapas Kumar Singh 30th Jan, 2021

Hello dear student

  • Actually there are few similarity  both of them The major difference between both these field is that IT deals with the application of computing technology to real life processes.
  • while, Computer Science deals with the science that facilitates these applications. ... On the other hand, IT is just the selection of the proper software or hardware for the task.

If still have any queries than please post your queries our experts definitely help you.

Hope that's helpful

Hello sir mai ne 12th bihar board se math le k kiya tha kya mai ab phir se 12th bihar board se hi biology le k kr sakta hun

Abir Gayen 27th Jan, 2021

Hi Aspirant,

According to most of the boards in India.you cannot repeat 12th boards with different choices of subject. However in case you want to repeat you have to take admission in science(biology) according to your class 10th marks and then you need to reappear and study class 11 from first and then sit for board examination.I would suggest you not to waste the time like that and decide the career you can pursue with your already given 12 exams and then proceed further.

Hope it helps!!

BSEB Me Additional Subject (math) me pass honaa jaroori hai kya? Main Subject Bio h. session 2019-21

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 25th Jan, 2021
Hi

No, it is not mandatory to pass in your additional subject or optional subject or your 6th subject in your board examination

This is because,

Even if you fail in your additional maths subject you will you be still pass in your board examination in overall, provided you pass in rest of the 5 subjects and you will be eligible for taking admission in graduation.

Now that, you want to pursue your BSc in biology i. e bsc zoology/botany etc

For reference, eligibility criteria in Delhi University is provided below :-

*B.Sc (Hons.) Anthropology/ Biological Sciences/ Botany/ Microbiology/ Zoology:- to be eligible you must have passed your 12th board examination and must have got at least 50% marks in English and at least an aggregate of 60% marks in PCB i. e Physics, Chemistry and Biology or Biochemistry or Biotechnology .

So, it doesn't matter even to fail in your additional maths examination you will be still pass in your 12th board exam and will be able to take admission in graduation provided you meet rest of the criteria required for admission
