Im currently pursuing my engineering in Mech.,I want to make a career in Finance & Management related sector.

Rohit Roy 26th Sep, 2018
I don't feel this will make any difference.
Mostly, the quantitative stuff of CAT does not have anything related to engineering mathematics in it.It includes topics of basic algebra, mensuration, number system and similar things which mainly check your aptitude and thinking skills.
So,prepare for it wisely and come out with flying colours.

If x2y3 =(x+y)5 then find the dy/dx

sunnysarkar018 15th Dec, 2020
x^2.y^3=(x+y)^5
Or, 2x.y^3+3y^2.x.(dy/dx)=5(x+y)^4.(1+(dy/dx))
Or, 3y^2.x(dy/dx)_5(x+y)^4.(dy/dx)=5(x+y)^4_2x.y^3
Or,(dy/dx)=[5(x+y)^4_2x.y^3][3y^2.x_5(x+y)^4]

This is the answer of your question.

If the line 3x-4y=t cuts the circle x^2+y^2-4x-8y-5=0 in two points then limits of t are?

Vaishali Varshney 16th Oct, 2018

steps:

1. first compare the second equation x^2+y^2-4x-8y-5=0 with the eq of center of circle x^2+y^2+2gx+2fy+c=0 , compute the center of the circle that is (-g,-f)

hence here the center of circle is (2,4)

2. calculate the radius : Sqrt(g^2+f^2-c)= 5 units

if the line intersects circle at two points
