You'll get BSc Major in any subject if you complete 48 credits in the chosen subject as per the norms of IGNOU, for instance if you complete 48 credits in physics you'll be awarded with BSc Major in Physics and the same will reflect in your marksheet and degree

If you really want to pursue enginerring in the future then you must go for mathematics and yes iot's quite important. Yes it's mandatory for science students to have maths in order to fill the form.
