Yes you can appear for the CAP round of MAHCET as different results will come after the cap round like engineering results will come in july . There is no issue in appearing for counselling , but resolve the problems before the admission process to avoid issues. 

you should definitely go for MBA beacuse it will give you faster growth  and if you want to change your field after engineering like you dont want to go in the core field then you shoud definitely do MBA , but do MBA from top B-Schools in India then only
