do all students need to reside in hostel when they get a seat after 1st round

monag2673 24th Aug, 2024

No, not all students are required to reside in a hostel after securing a seat in the first round of counseling for medical or other courses. The requirement to stay in a hostel depends on the specific policies of the college or university you are admitted to.

Some institutions, particularly those in more rural or remote areas, may require students to stay in hostels to ensure their safety, convenience, and to foster a focused academic environment. In such cases, hostel accommodation might be mandatory, especially in the first year.

However, many colleges, especially those in urban areas or with a larger student body, offer students the choice of either staying in the hostel or making their own accommodation arrangements off-campus. If you prefer to live off-campus, it's important to confirm with the institution whether they allow it and if there are any specific procedures or permissions required.

If staying in a hostel is mandatory, the college typically informs students during the admission process or in the joining instructions. Always check with your college's administration for the exact details related to hostel residency requirements.

Hello i am from Jharkhand. I have obc ncl certificate for admission in central institutes but i dont have it for state. Do i require caste certificate for state also in state counseling?

Prachi Kumari 14th Aug, 2024

Hello Rahul,

Yes, for state counseling, you will generally need to provide a caste certificate specific to the state where you are applying, even if you have an OBC-NCL (Other Backward Classes - Non-Creamy Layer) certificate for central institutes.

Here's why:

  1. State-Specific Requirements: Different states may have specific requirements or formats for caste certificates. States often issue their own OBC certificates, which may have different criteria or formats compared to central certificates.

  2. Verification and Validity: State counseling authorities need to verify that your caste certificate meets their specific requirements. A state-issued certificate is usually required to prove eligibility for state quotas.

Steps to Take:

  1. Obtain a State Caste Certificate: If you do not already have a state-specific OBC certificate, you should apply for one from the relevant state authorities in Jharkhand. This involves obtaining a certificate from the local revenue office or district magistrate's office, following the state's procedures.

  2. Check State Counseling Guidelines: Review the guidelines issued by the state counseling authority to understand the specific requirements for caste certificates. These guidelines will detail whether you need a state-specific certificate or if other forms of verification are acceptable.

  3. Consult Counseling Authorities: Contact the state counseling authority or visit their official website for accurate and detailed information on what documents are required for state counseling.

Ensuring you have the correct documentation will help avoid complications during the admission process.

Hope it helps !

can I get a govt MBBS seat with 359 marks St category in Telangana or in other states by AIQ with less fees

mjaisinghani62 10th Jul, 2024

Hello aspirant

It seems difficult to predict college for getting mbbs seat  (though being sc category candidate 359 is a good score )as it depends upon neet cut off 2024 .

Cut off keeps changing every year and depends upon certain factors such as number of candidates who appeared in Neet  exam, difficulty level of exam,  student's performance, availability of seat and previous year's cut off etc.

This year cut off is very high .

Cut off neet for 2024 , general category candidate is 50th percentile ie score between 720-164.

For SC/ST/OBC it is 40th percentile ie score between 163 -129

You may try in following colleges in Telangna

Apollo Institute of medical Sciences

Bhaskar medical college

Osmania medical college

Kakatiya medical college

Government medical college, Siddipet government medical college  Jangaon

neet score: 368 caste: sc state: Karnataka Is there a chance of getting GOVERNMENT (MBBS/BAMS) SEAT IN KARNATAKA

Nitin Kumar 7th Jul, 2024

While it's difficult to predict with absolute certainty, securing a government MBBS/BAMS seat in Karnataka with a NEET score of 368 and SC category seems unlikely.

Typically, the cut-off scores for government MBBS seats in Karnataka, even for SC candidates, are significantly higher than 368. The competition for government medical seats is fierce, and even with reservations, the minimum marks required can be quite high.

The cut-offs for BAMS seats are generally lower than MBBS. For SC/ST/OBC candidates, the all-India cut-off percentile for BAMS can be around 40th percentile, which translates to a score ranging from 129-163

I AM STUDENT FROM TELANGANA STATE BELONGS TO SC CATEGORY. I GOT 377 MARKS IN NEET UG, CAN I GET A MEDICAL SEAT

Nitin Kumar 7th Jul, 2024

It's difficult to predict with absolute certainty whether you can secure a medical seat with a score of 377 in NEET UG and belonging to the SC category in Telangana.
Typically, cut-off scores for government MBBS/BDS seats in Telangana, even for SC candidates, are significantly higher than 377. The exact cut-off depends on various factors like the difficulty level of the exam, the number of test-takers, and the number of available seats.

Medical seats, especially in government colleges, are highly sought-after, and competition can be fierce even with reservations.

While securing a government seat might be challenging, you could consider private medical colleges in Telangana that accept NEET UG scores for admissions. These colleges might have their own cut-offs, which could be lower than those of government colleges.

The cut-offs for Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) programs are generally lower compared to MBBS. You might have a better chance of securing a seat in a BDS college with your score.

Explore deemed universities in Telangana or other states that offer medical programs and accept NEET UG scores.
