My marks in neet 2025 are 476 and General ews category Can I get a mbbs seat in goverment college

gopi 19th Jun, 2025

Hello Jatin,

Based on 476 marks in NEET 2025 and in General-EWS category, it is important to remember that obtaining an MBBS seat in a government medical college is dependent on your state of domicile and the cut-off trajectory of that year.

  • For All India Quota (15%) - General-EWS - the cut-off is usually above 600 in most government colleges.
  • For State Quota (85%) - conditions are better if you belong to a state which has lower cut-offs or a lesser number of top rankers. North Eastern states, Bihar, Rajasthan, or Chhattisgarh are likely to have lower cut-offs in EWS category but 476 is still borderline.

You may have a better chance in:

  1. Semi-government/ESIC colleges
  2. Deemed universities with EWS seats
  3. Private colleges with government quota fees

I got 248 marks in neet 2025 from st category, and I am from gujrat.can I get admission in mbbs in private medical college??

OISHEE BANERJEE 19th Jun, 2025

With 248 marks in NEET 2025 and belonging to the ST category from Gujarat, you have qualified the exam, which is the first step toward admission. However, getting a government MBBS seat may be quite difficult at this score, as the ST cutoff for government colleges in Gujarat usually stays higher—often around 350 to 400 or more.

Still, you do have a chance of getting an MBBS seat in a private medical college, especially under the ST category. Gujarat has private colleges that reserve seats for reserved category students, and the cutoffs there are generally lower than government colleges. Your chances improve further during the mop-up or stray vacancy rounds, depending on how seats remain vacant.

Make sure to participate in Gujarat state counselling and keep checking for updated cutoff data, especially for private colleges with category-wise seat allotments.

All the best!

I have 152 marks in neet 2025 i want to do MBBS via NRI quota is there any options available for me

SHUBHANGI SINHA 22nd Jun, 2025

Hello,

It may be difficult, but not impossible, to get into a prestigious Indian medical college through the NRI quota with 152 NEET 2025 scores. Although there may still be fierce competition for these spots, private and government colleges with NRI quotas are viable choices.

For information on these colleges' precise eligibility requirements, cost schedules, and application processes for NRI quota seats, get in touch with the admissions offices.

I have 152 marks in neet 2025 i want to do MBBS via NRI quota is there any options available for me

SHUBHANGI SINHA 25th Jun, 2025

Hello,

You have very little chance of gaining and MBBS seat through The NRI quota with 152 NEET 2025 scores, but it is still feasible. Few important considerations are your budget, college preference, and open seats in the stray vacancy rounds.

Even for NRI seats, elite private/deemed institutions (Kasturba, KMC, SRM, Amrita, etc.) demand better NEET scores.

However, in the mop - up aur stray vacancy rounds, several lower tire private medical institutions in states like Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Uttar Pradesh could grant NRI Kota seats.

Requirements:

  • Valid NRI documents(passport, sponsorships letter, and NRI affidavit) are required.
  • Early registration on the MCC and the corresponding state counselling portals.
  • Pay attention to the counselling offered by Deemed University (via MCC)

I have 152 marks in neet 2025 i want to do MBBS via NRI quota is there any options available for me

gopi 19th Jun, 2025

Hello Aspirant,

While having 152 marks in NEET 2025 does not disqualify you from studying MBBS through NRI, opportunities will be very limited depending on the state and college. You may still be able to enter a deemed private university or a self-funded medical college in places like Tamil Nadu, Karnataka or Uttar Pradesh that offers NRI seats with a lower cutoff, but under the NRI quota your fees are significantly higher. Here are the recommendations you can keep that in mind:

  • Look at deemed universities like SRM, Saveetha, Manipal, or DY Patil that have NRI seats.
  • Check the updates from the MCC (Medical Counselling Committee) and State counselling universities.
  • You will have to provide valid NRI sponsorship documents.

my number in neet 2025 is 468 all india rank 94389 obc category rank 45702 as i want to do mbbs from gmc can you please suggest me some medical College from my state bihar caste ebc and all india obc category

Ayush Madanpotra 24th Jun, 2025

With your NEET 2025 score of 468, All India Rank 94,389, and OBC category rank 45,702, it will be very difficult to get a government MBBS seat in Bihar.

In Bihar, government medical colleges usually close around 630 to 680 marks for general and OBC categories. Even for EBC students, the cut-off is much higher than your score. So, getting a seat in top colleges like Patna Medical College, Darbhanga Medical College, or IGIMS Patna is not possible with 468 marks.

Under All India Quota, the competition is even tougher. You need a score above 600 to get a seat in any government medical college through AIQ.

But you still have some options. You can try for private MBBS colleges in Bihar where the cut-off is lower, though the fees will be much higher. You may also get a seat in BAMS (Ayurveda), BHMS (Homeopathy), or BPT (Physiotherapy) in government or private colleges. These courses require lower NEET scores and have more availability.

If your budget is around 20 to 40 lakhs, you can also explore MBBS in other states or even abroad.

Can I get mbbs college in Karnataka with neet counselling through AIQ quota

Samriddha Pal 18th Jun, 2025

Hello,

Achieving an MBBS seat in a government college in Karnataka through the AIQ (15% All India Quota) is extremely improbable with an All India Rank (AIR) of 2,71,334 in NEET 2025. AIQ seats are highly contested, and candidates in the general category generally require an AIR between 60,000 and 70,000, with NEET scores often exceeding 600 to obtain a seat in a government college. Moreover, the cutoffs for UR candidates in Karnataka’s state quota are approximately between 520 and 550 marks, significantly above your present score.

Nevertheless, do not dismiss counselling completely. You remain qualified to take part in both AIQ and state counselling, which may provide opportunities for private or semi-government medical colleges in Karnataka. For instance, certain semi-government and minority colleges allocate seats at lower ranks—although the fees could be considerably greater.

Hope this helps. All the best!
