For pursuing MD after MBBS, you need to appear for AIPGMEE entrance exam to get into government colleges. It generally takes 2 years for a diploma, while it takes 3 years for completing a degree course. You can also go for +3 years after MD to gain specialization

It has been an old notion that mbbs from a government college is better than that from a private college.
But its not entirely so. The subjects, the portions they all remain the same... In fact some deemed universities and private collegea have retired doctors as their faculty members
