Hello Aspirant,
Yes, candidates who are outside Punjab are eligible to apply for PG (MD/MS) seats under Management Quota in Private Medical Colleges of Punjab as these seats are open to all eligible NEET-PG–qualified candidates from all over India (irrespective of domicile) and allotment is done through centralized counseling by state authority.
Hii pallavi, if you are thinking of doing MD at GMC Haldwani, it is definitely a good option.
The department has modern equipment, well maintained laboratories which means that you won't just study theory you will also get hands on practical experience with latest machines and techniques that are used in real hospitals.
The college also offers a decent number of seats in this branch. The student teacher ratio is also appropriate which will ensure that you get enough personal attention from faculty while still having peer interaction for discussions and projects.
You will regularly see and assist with different types of cases from routine surgery to critical emergency as the college is attached to a 600 bed teaching hospital.
Also being a government medical College the fees is much more affordable compared to many private college making it worth the money. So, GMC Haldwani is a strong and reliable choice if you are looking for above discussed qualities in an institution.
With a NEET PG rank of around 45,000 under the OBC category, securing admission in a good DNB or MD Pathology program is feasible, especially in private medical colleges and accredited hospitals offering DNB courses. Although government medical colleges often have higher cutoffs for MD Pathology, private institutions and deemed universities provide better chances for candidates with ranks in this range.
Some notable private colleges where candidates with your rank might consider applying for MD or DNB Pathology include:
Kasturba Medical College, Manipal – Known for quality medical education and offering both MD and DNB programs.
JSS Medical College, Mysore – Offers MD and DNB courses and has recognition across specialties.
Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences, Kochi – A well-regarded institution providing DNB Pathology with good clinical exposure.
Christian Medical College, Ludhiana – It offers DNB programs and is known for high academic standards.
Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai – Offers MD and DNB courses with decent ranking cutoffs in private medical schools.
For DNB courses, accredited hospitals across multiple cities conduct admissions through centralized counseling. These hospitals often have more flexible cutoffs compared to government colleges, making DNB a valuable alternative.
It is advised to participate in all rounds of counseling (state and all-India), explore mop-up and stray vacancy rounds, and be open to multiple institutions across nearby states to maximize admission opportunities.
Your OBC reservation quota positively impacts cutoff relaxation, improving your chances further.
In conclusion, while highly competitive government MD Pathology seats may be difficult with a 45,000 rank, private colleges like Kasturba Medical College, JSS Mysore, Amrita Kochi, Christian Medical College Ludhiana, and Sri Ramachandra Chennai offer promising opportunities. DNB programs in hospital-based centers present additional good options to pursue a career in pathology.
Hii,
If you are talking about medical,
First You should have your MBBS degree from a recognised College NMC approved this is a basic criteria.
After that you must have you 1 year internship after MBBS.
Must qualify NEET PG exam that is a postgraduate exam . now based on your rank you have to go through councelling via All India quota or state quota .
You can choose MS, MD in government or private college based on your choice .
So if your rank is not high so you can stil get admission , but with higher fees like it's too costly to pay for md course in private.
With your 115 mark getting into need PG in South India medical colleges is really hard and impossible because you usually need higher cut off to get into any other medical college if you have I am ask you will get into government college if you have mid level marks you will get into private in institution
Hey:)
Thanks for reaching out!
With 115 marks in NEET PG, it's highly unlikely to get admission into MD paediatrics in any South Indian Medical college, whether government or private .The reason is that the qualifying cutoff itself is much higher, In recent years general category candidates needed atleast 280-300 above just to qualify, and even reserved Categories required more than 200.On top of that MD paediatrics is high-demand branch and the closing rank in South India are usually above 400-500.So,If you're really interested in pursuing MD paediatrics, it would be a good idea to consider preparing again and aim for 400+ in your next attempt.
All the best!
After MD Pharm, people work as faculty in medical colleges, in clinical research/clinical trials, regulatory affairs, medical writing/medical affairs with pharma/CROs, and in drug safety roles. Academic salaries are steady; industry roles (PV/MA/CR) often pay more and grow faster.
Hope you will find it helpful!
