M.D.S.
Koushik, You have 2 options right now.
1. Either you can opt for Free Exit. If you do not want to join the allotted college, you can go for 2nd counselling without joining or reporting to the College allotted in the first round. You will still not be penalised but be eligible for 2nd round.
2. Or you can join the first college and opt for an upgrade. And then this seat becomes a virtual vacant seat.
Eitherways, you will be still eligible for 2nd round of counselling.
Hello Aspirant
There is only basic difference between both of them, that is the fees.
So consider there is an xyz college:
You are aspiring for the college, the college takes students below 1000 rank and you got 5000 rank
So as per the government regulation, you cannot take admission in that college via government quota seats as you don' qualify the cutoff, but you can take admission in the same college by Institutional Management quota. These are the seats reserved by the college ,after all the rounds they will open up management quota seats and from there you can get admission in that same college but with more fees.
The fees will be much higher than the normal seat,it depends from college to college.
Regards!

Bhavya, you haven't mentioned the State you belong to and the College you are enquiring about. Neverthless, there is no fee reiumbursement for Management Quota seats. Depending on the State you belong to, some Governments do help with reiumbursement until MBBS but not for MD/MD and that too in Management quota.
