To be honest, With 426 gate score you can't get any branch under any category in IISc Bangalore based on last year cutoff. If you are a general candidate then you must score at least 750+ to get a seat in any branch and 660+ for OBC and 580+ for SC and 500+ for ST. Mtech admission in NIT is through CCMT and CCMT site provides the fee structure of participating institutes.

If you want to do preparation of government job then M.Tech from earth science is good choice. You get lot of time for preparation. Or if you truly want to do research in earth science then iit kharagpur is a good platform. There are good placements in reputed organisation. You get chance to do intern from renowned organizations like Isro, Imd, or in forign university also. And Iit kharagpur is better than most other colleges. It depends upon you to choose in which field you want to go.
