Can Mechanical and Automation engineering student appear for the IES examination?

Rajib Sarkar 5th Jul, 2018

Yes you can definitely sit for IES exam but you have to give it in the category of Mechanical Engineering branch. As Computer Science Sstudents students have to give it in ECE branch.

IES deals only with core branches and that is why there is a little bit of confusion.

Regards.

Which engineering course has better job opportunities, aeronautical engineering or automobile engineering or Mechanical

Anonymous 25th Jul, 2017
If we compare all three branches than mechanical branch have good scope in the future. Mechanical engineers have vast options of industries to choose from, since the degree is general in nature, and applicable to all types of industries that uses machines. Students can take their masters to specialise in a niche engineering field like automobile, nanotech, aeronautical etc., after their graduation for better prospects in that chosen field

What is the difference between mechanical engineering and mechanical and automation engineering.?

Anonymous 19th Sep, 2016
Don't confuse between "automation" & "automotive" Both of branches have nearly same syllabus about 80%. MAE (Mechanical & Automation engineering) is focused towords future. When there'll shortage of workers in factories or in order to reduce cost & time of manufacturing, robots will replace workers. All that is automation. Even some of factories are completely automated. If you've ever seen the manufacturing of iPhone or intel processors with robots you can understand. ME (Mechanical Engineering) converges towards concepts of working of machines. They've slightly stronger basics concepts than MAE students.
