It depends on the cut off and number of seats.Wait for the cutoff list and try your luck.Do consider the number of seats for each branch of engineering because there are limited number of seats.

IIT offers B. Tech. program in Automobile Engineering.
But if you wish to make your fortunes in Automobile Industry, it would be advisable if you enrol yourself for a Mechanical Engineering program.
And for Mechanical Engineering, IIT Delhi & IIT Madras are considered good.

Dushyant there is a provision of opting a different specialization branch for doing M.Tech from IITs on the basis of your GATE score but whether you can get a CS branch specialization branch with an IT GATE score cannot be said surely because it depends on the various branches department
