Piyush 30th Nov, 2021

Hello aspirant ,

Since you have not mentioned your category , I'm considering you as a general category . The cutoff is the major factor here as it depends upon the categpory you belong as well. So, the cutoff for mechanical branch in appgcet is different for different category students .

However , I have listed the previous year cutoff , for Mechanical branch only , for all category students ( It is just the estimate as it may vary from year to year ) :

  • General:5218
  • SC:19827
  • ST:23781
  • BC-A:5631
  • BC-B:6530
  • BC-C:5218
  • BC-D:6293
  • BC-E:6217
  • EWS:4987

So , since you belong to the UR category , you might get a seat in jntuk or some other colleges for mechcanical branch .

Furthur , for more information , you can check the below articl eto know more about the colleges based on your rank :

I have 23400 EWS rank can I get any NIT with mechanical branch. If Not then which brank can I get

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 21st Oct, 2021

Hello

Your profile suggests that your home state is Maharashtra

With 23400 ews rank,

You have low chance for mechanical or any branch in any NITs .

For example,

Under other state quota , closing rank for some of the nits for which closing rank goes low are listed below along with their closing rank in the 6th round of josaa counselling 2020   :-

---------) NIT Nagaland :- Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering  :- 8007 EWS rank

---------) NIT Raipur :- biotechnology :- 8096 ews rank

---------) National Institute of Technology Agartala:- production engineering :- 8629 ews rank

You can verify the above at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

So, to get a seat in NIT you should get at least around 8000 ews rank

But yes,

Some of the government  engineering colleges in which you hold a chance on the basis of past year closing rank are listed below along with the link for their previous year cutoff :-

-------) IK Gujral Punjab Technical University, Jalandhar:- https://www.careers360.com/university/ik-gujral-punjab-technical-university-jalandhar/cut-off

-------) Jiwaji University, Gwalior:- https://www.careers360.com/university/jiwaji-university-gwalior/cut-off

-------) Indira Gandhi Engineering College, Sagar :- https://www.careers360.com/colleges/indira-gandhi-engineering-college-sagar/cut-off

This prediction of colleges is  based of past year data but  cut off or closing rank changes every year depending upon many factors like the number of students that give the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main  for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

Is a BTech student (electrical or mechanical engineering) eligible for Agriculture Officer entrance exam?

kumari.ranu525 29th Nov, 2021
Hey aspirant,
According to my research, the qualification required for writing agriculture officer entrance exam is that the candidate should have a bachelor's degree in agriculture with a minimum of 50 percent aggregate along with their class 10th and 12th.
So I don't think a candidate from Electrical or mechanical background can apply for this.
Hope this helps

I got in EAMCET first phase is CVSR and second phase is Vardhaman mechanical engineering what is the scope of mechanical engineering and in special phase I got in cvr.which should I join.

Hello,

The growth prospect in the field of mechanical engineering is immense and one needs to be resilient to make it to the top of the line. The growth path for mechanical engineering graduates is quite bright when it comes to the entry-level. However, progressing to senior level requires a masters’ degree in mechanical engineering as well as work experience in a big firm or organisation

You can refer this link for more information regarding mechanical engineering :

It is hard to choose a college so there are few things that one should keep in mind after the admission process is done.College's placement record, fee structure, academics and creditation.

Placements:

As seeing the placement record provided on the official website of the respected colleges, the companies visiting and the package offered, it is quite clear that CVR college has the best placement record among three. The companies visiting the CVR college are greater in number and better than the other too. Same goes with the package and internships offered. Keeping placement in mind, CVR is the best college.

Academics:

All these colleges offer all engineering courses of all domains. The syllabus pattern is almost same in all three.

Fee structure:

The academic fee for Vardhaman college is around 4.5 lakhs for a B.tech course of four years, for CVR it is around 2.5 Lakhs for the same and for cvsr it's around 4 lakhs for the same 4 year B.tech course. Among these three, the one with minimal fee structure is CVR.

Credits:

All three universities are accredited with garde 'A' by NAAC.

Comparing all the three colleges based on the above criterias, CVR seems the best choice. Good luck!

core groups like Electrical ,Mechanical,Civil and electronics in NIT is good or Material science, Environment science in IIT is good. As I am getting these options for my rank

Jaspreet Singh Bhatiya 20th Oct, 2021

Hello,

I hope you are doing good,

If your passion is on campus life and you are interested in pursuing a career in a non-engineering field, take any B.Tech branch at IIT. Studying for IIT higher has certain benefits such as the IIT tag and the initial prospects of being placed in non-core areas such as finance, management, consultation, etc.

If your focus is primarily on placement and earnings, NIT is your course because Core students receive top packages. This will also be very helpful if you want to do higher studies in Core.

With your All India JEE rank you can get into following colleges based on your branch preference:

For CSE:

  • National Institute of Technology, Manipur
  • Assam University, Silchar
  • Gurukula Kangri Vishwavidyalaya, Haridwar

Since, you are eligible for CSE then you will be eligible for other branches (mostly) as well because CSE usually has the lowest rank (high-cutoff) because of its demand amongst students.

i am studying in ujjain polytechnic college in mechanical branch, so can i take lateral entry in another branch CS.

Rohith Miryala 23rd Oct, 2021

Hello there,

The Answer to your question stands out to be YES . But, its not that easy to enter into CSE Branch after studying mechanical engineering in diploma. Because you need to get a Merit Rank overtaking your fellow competitors in computer science branch. They will have a upper hand as they have enough knowledge in coding. If you have prepared well and confident on your side to jump into CSE then go head.

Make sure that clearing the cutoff is your primary task..

Comment below if anything has to be cleared.

All the best..

Can i get mechanical branch in any iit with sc rank 2450? If not which would be best alternative branch i can get?

pdwords Student Expert 19th Nov, 2021

Hello,

It's tough to make exact predictions as cut-offs vary every years based on multiple factors such as seat matrix, reservation, total number of candidates appearing for the exam, difficulty level of the paper etc, however  if we go last year through JOSAA Counseling of sixth round for IITs pertaining to SC Category(Gender Neutral), you may have chances for Mechanical Engineering in the following IITs:-

  • IIT Dharwad
  • IIT Palakkad
  • IIT Jammu
  • IIT Bhilai

You can go through previous year closing ranks for various programs offered by IITs against your respective category at https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx
