which option i should choose mechanical at old iit or computer science at 2nd generation iit

Priyanka Singh 17th Oct, 2021

Hi,

I hope you are doing well

Older IITs will offer you a much better ambiance to grow (given that you have to be there for 4 years!). You get to feel the IIT culture (fests, events and societies). Also they have good placements. Mechanical is a core branch. Lot of scope in govt. jobs (read PSUs) too.

But in my opinion, you should go for CS. It’s a much better branch than mechanical in terms of pay packages and job environment. Lot of scope in private sector. Not much scope in govt. sector though. New IITs will give you ample opportunities ( less number of people). They have good infrastructure, if not better. Only their campus location can be worrisome (given that you have to be there for 4 years!). But with time they will develop.

So unless you have special interest in subjects like fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, mechanics, kinematics, vibrations etc. don’t go for mechanical.

All the best.

should I chose manipal mechanical or bits goa chemical?

Subhrajit Mukherjee 25th Nov, 2021

See if you have no subject preferences, then I would recommend you to go for the BITS GOA Chemical Engineering. The chemical engineering course have a much better job scope compared to that of Mechanical Engineering. Also the BITS GOA have a better placement rates which can really give you a good scope to get employed. Now Mechanical Engineering and Chemical Engineering both are core engineering fields but chemical engineering have a more job preference. If you know Mechanical engineering is one of the basic engineering sciences and there are a lot of applicability over the industries but still the mechanical engineering grads don't land good salary jobs. Also BITS GOA have a better infrastructure and faculties compared to that of MANIPAL. So factually, BITS GOA will be the most preferable choice for you.

which is better iiest shibpur mechanical or nit Warangal civil or cbit ai and data science

ayanmukherjee045 25th Nov, 2021

Dear aspirant,

If you were to take my opinion I think nit Warangal civil will be a better choice than iiest shibpur or cbit ai because first of all you will get a tag of a nit. Apart from this nit Warangal is one of top three nits in india.

The college has strong placements in the civil branch too. The average package stays around 7L per annum. Companies like vedanta, jindal steel , LNT, TATA group comes for recruitment and internships.

Whereas iiest shibpur doesn't have good placement percentage in the mechanical branch.

can i apply b.tech for jmi after completing diploma in mechanical engineering.

Aditi Dixit 25th Nov, 2021

hello aspirant, hope you are doing good,

As per your question, you can surely apply for JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA after completing your diploma. But there is no lateral entry institute. they provide admission on basis of your JEE main results and score. You have to score well in your JEE main exam. As per your diploma is concerned diploma in engineering is recognized by AICTE or the state board of technical education of 3 to 4 years duration with no less than 55% marks. The procedure is not mentioned for the diploma students. You have to just clear your jee main examination. in spite of this you also have to fill the university form separately.

Hope this information is sufficient

Aditi Dixit 25th Nov, 2021

hello Gagan, hope you are doing good.

As per your question. yes, you are surely eligible for taking admission to IPU  through its Common entrance exam taking once a year, As per the rules you should have 60% aggregate in your diploma. IPU is one of the best-known universities. the university takes admission on lateral entry. the criteria are to have a diploma certificate of 3 years in any of the branches of engineering/ technology from any recognized diploma  awarding College/institute recognized by AICTE

NIT DURGAPUR MECHANICAL ENGINEERING VS NIT KURUKSHETRA MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Anurag Khanna 25th Nov, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See both colleges are top ranked in engineering institutions of national level but still there would be some comparisons which are required to make yourself clear.

NIRF ranking for NIT Durgapur is quite good than that of NIT Kurukshetra for the same course. NIT Durgapur holds 29th rank whereas NIT Kurukshetra holds 44th rank.

Now as we consider for placement, then placement scenario is almost same for both the NITs. In B.E./B.Tech. in mechanical engineering in both the NITs medical salary offered was around INR 8 LPA. Placement assistance is quite better in NIT Durgapur as compared to that of NIT Kurukshetra .

Now in terms of campus, NIT Kurukshetra has much larger campus than that of NIT Durgapur. Campus size of NIT Kurukshetra is 292 Acres while that of NIT Durgapur is only 187 Acres.

Course fee for NIT Kurukshetra is little bit lower as compared to that of NIT Durgapur. Course fee for NIT Durgapur is 5.51 Lakhs and for NIT Kurukshetra, it is 5.41 Lakhs.

Now if we go as per the students reviews who have either passed or currently studying in the mentioned colleges, then both the colleges are almost same and you can check out all the reviews from the links given below :-
