If you belong to Delhi region candidate then you have to achieve rank below AIR 15,000 and If you belong to Outside Delhi region candidate then you have to secure rank below AIR 3500 for Mechanical Engineering.

IITS and NITs are the prominent Institutes in our country other than that we have JNTUs and state, central universities which are also equally equipped like IITS and NITs. I request you to go through the list of various state and central universities and also some Institutes like BITS pilani
yes it is a good options as per in mechanical branch they consider higher degree holders in reference to btech students as per my experience. as an post graduate can control the engine more efficiently then a btech stuent thats why mostly companies prefer a post graduate then a btech
