The basic criteria to pursue B.E/B.Tech in ME  is to have PCM in 12th as you are from the same background then you are eligible to pursue this course as there are many entrances available for the same like IIT-JEE, BITSAT, VIT, SRM, MUOET and state level entrances like IPUCET,MHTCET,

I think if you try IITs there is a good chance you will secure a seat in some IIT.

if you are general you must have below 500 rank to get Mechanical

in the sense if you have category you should have below 900 its quite toug competation to get the RV
