No, only PSUs accept and recruit on the basis of Gate but yes if you talk about private companies then the criteria of providing job varies organisation to organisation so it is quite difficult to predict but yes, generally chances of getting recruited in private companies is little less as

Yes you can do ...even I've applied for production and industrial engineering through gate gate 2018....but chances of getting psus is less...if you are interested then go on or apply for ME
