For you subject of interest Mechanical would be better choice. But if you are looking for easy placement then go for computer branch, It is tough to get placed in core company if you are not from IIT or NIT.

There is no doubt that Bits is far better than vit. But getting admission in bits is not a child play!! Even those who qualify JEE ADVANCED sometimes fail in bits..
