VIT cutoff for Mtech in Mechanical/CAD,CAM?

gitika yadav 2nd Jan, 2025

Hi Omkar,

Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT) offers M.Tech programs in Mechanical Engineering and CAD/CAM. Admission to these programs is primarily based on the VITMEE (VIT Master's Entrance Examination) scores.

While VIT does not officially publish specific cutoff ranks for M.Tech admissions, historical data provides some insights. For instance, in previous years, candidates with VITMEE ranks around 386 have inquired about their chances for admission into the M.Tech CAD/CAM program. It's important to note that VIT does not have a category-based system for VITMEE admissions.

Additionally, the fee structure for M.Tech programs varies by category. For the M.Tech CAD/CAM program, the tuition fees are as follows:

  • Category 1 : 1,50,000 per annum

  • Category 2 : 2,30,000 per annum

A caution deposit of 3,000 is also applicable.

For 2025, candidates will be able to check out the Cutoffs after it's release on the official website. Till then...

All the best!

dropping out of a BTech program in the middle can be a problem but you must focus on your future goals and then you can definitely overcome it first you need to prioritise clearing your backlogs and focus on clearing them as soon as possible. You can consult with your college or university and  well then prepare for GATE properly. understand the syllabus properly and focus on the core subjects and understand their marks criteria. practice regularly solve previous year question papers of Gates And also possible join a coaching institute. Can a B.tech mechanical engineering student get admission to MSc physics from any university in Bihar?

Samprikta Mondal 11th Nov, 2024

Yes, one can get admission into M.Sc. Physics in universities in Bihar after completing B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. For applying to any other postgraduate course from a different field, there shouldn't be very strict limitations based on your undergraduate degree, but there might be some challenges that you'll need to think about-is

Eligibility

University-specific: Many universities will not have any undergraduate degree restrictions but may require specific courses offered in physics or mathematics as part of the B.Tech program. See the individual eligibility criteria for M.Sc. Physics programs offered at universities you are interested in.

Entrance Tests: Some colleges may require you to take entrance tests like JAM (Joint Admission for MSc) or might even be some private entrance test conducted by the college. The entrance tests check your surface knowledge of all basic Physics concepts.

Preparation:

As you would be doing M.Sc. in Mechanical engineering, your physics background may not be upto the mark. You may need to refresh your knowledge in Physics. You may enroll in some other courses or self-study the basic coursework of Physics to prepare you for an entrance exam or help fill in the gap while competing with other M.Sc. Physics aspirants.
