Hi
Your profile suggests that you are from UP i. e outside Delhi
With 74 percentile
Your crl rank will be around
265980 - 299000 as per our rank predictor at https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor
It is quite difficult to make prediction but yes,
When we go through previous year trend then ,
Your chances are low for mechanical engineering in DTU.
For example,
In round 9th of jac counselling 2020 , closing crl rank for sc category for outside Delhi region was 181739 for mechanical engineering in DTU.
You can check the same at

Above prediction is on the basis of past year data but cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc so

Hello kalyan
I hope you are doing good. I would like to tell you that their are many tier-1 colleges in tamil nadu which do have very good placements for mechanical branch . For getting admission in these you need to get very good rank in jee mains or in tancet. Start preparing with full consistency
Following is the list of colleges
Coimbatore Institute of Technology
Amrita School of Engineering, Coimbatore
IIT Madras - Indian Institute of Technology
NIT Trichy - National Institute of Technology
Madras Institute of Technology
SASTRA (Deemed )
Hope you found this answer helpful. Good luck for your future
Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore
I would suggest you to pursue Mechanical from AIT Pune, which has certainly much higher career scope and placement prospects than Polymer at ICT Mumbai. Being located near Industrial and Manufacturing Hubs of Pune and Pimpri Chinchwad, provide huge scope and impetus to training and placements besides providing effective engineering education.
On the other hand, ICT Mumbai is perhaps the best State Engineering College with VJTI and COEP, after Central Institutes VNIT and IITB. Incase you are interested in pursuing a MS/PhD or Research in future, in that case you may prefer Polymer at ICT Mumbai over AIT Pune Mechanical, otherwise, going by Placements and future career and industry prospects, AIT Pune is a much better option.

Hey,
First of all there is no such thing that says that distance education won't matter whereas regular courses matter.
Most of the companies recruit on the basis of a assessment test and if you clear the test you will be called for interview. If you clear the interview then you will get the offer.
As far as the gap year is concerned, few companies have specific requirements about your gap year and few don't care about it.
You need to individually check for the gap requirements on the company's website.
Hope that helps.
Thank you.
Hello,
The Diploma in Engineering(Lateral Entry) is a technical qualification below the undergraduate level which aims to provide students with the basic, hands-on knowledge of engineering, scientific, computing, mathematical techniques, English communication and ability to apply the basic problem solving techniques. Its duration is 2 years. After successfully completing the course, students can either continue further Engineering studies in undergraduate level or get employment as supervisors, foremen, sales engineers, workshop technicians, draughtsman, service station managers, auto engineers, agricultural overseers, farm managers, junior instructors, workshop superintendents.
hello aspirant,
As of now its tough to say because the analysis and also cutoffs change every year due to many factors like total students appearing for exam, difficulty level of paper etc.but based on previous year analysis, below are the cutoffs.for computer science the cutoff in VNIT nagpur for ews is rank 1199 in ews category.and for mechanical it is 3645 by rank in your category.a percentile 98.5-99+ would be a safe score for you as you are aiming for cse at nit.
for more information about cutoffs refer to: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-vnit-nagpur
.for more information to get a personalised report on what all chances you have for your rank refer to: https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer
hope this helps,
thankyou.
MBA and MCA are two totally different courses and have different career scope and prospects. After MBA, you perhaps have a wider career scope with Finance, Operations, Manufacturing, IT, Business and Corporate Industry in Managerial Roles. After MCA, your career scope mostly limited to Software/ IT/ Services Industry.
I would perhaps advise you to pursue a MBA Degree after B.Tech in Mechanical for better career scope and prospects. MCA is primarily for Non Engineering Graduates, interested in developing a career in the IT Industry, though after a B.Tech you can definitely apply for it.
There is no home state quota for admission in School of Engineering, Tezpur University, Tezpur is based. All the seats through JoSAA counselling are filled under All India quota. You have not mentioned your category assuming that you belong to general category here is the previous year cut off for JoSAA round 6 counselling for the above mentioned Institute for general category
Your expected rank will be in between 174217 - 195845. Considering the previous year cut and the expected rank you may not get seat in Tezpur University. You need to score minimum 92-95 percentile or above in JEE Main. But cut off is subjected to change it may increase or decrease depending on the number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.
