you can not change the stream. You had completed your b.tech in mechanical engineering so you can apply for mechanical engineering only in GATE. You can not go for compiter engineering. However you can joim seperate course for data science imstead of masters in computer engineering.

Since mechanical branch is famous in Roorkee but not in Guwahati, so I strongly suggest you to choose mechanical in IIT Roorkee and not in Guwahati. If your rank is coming under opening and closing ranks for cs in Guwahati then fill that.
