No, you actually cannot take up another branch in BE.You can take Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy and Material Science Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Automobile Engineering.All these branches are related to Mechanical Engineering so you have to choose any of the above mentioned branches.

As you've mentioned that you've scored 94 percentile and assuming that you're from general category then by formula

Rank=(100-percentile)*8690.10

You rank is around 52,150, at this rank you won't get any IIITs at any branch.

You might apply for other colleges or give the next attempt for JEE
