There are some rules and eligibility for JEE Mains candidate have to follow some rules and eligibility like candidates can appear 3 time..so if are for jee main you can appear for it..

Metallurgy is a different branch but yes obviously not a core branch. It is may be called as a sub branch of Mechanical.
It is a more narrowed branch of Mechanical Engineering. But their are certainly core companies who like to take Metallurgy based Engineers over Mechanical.
Dear aspirant, yes metallurgy is a sub stream mechanical engineering. As mechanical subjects deals with all types of machines and metals but metallurgy focuses on only the study of metals alloys and there working.
