HBTU is one of the top colleges there and according to your percentile, your rank will be somewhere around 2 lakh. Moreover, branches like CS and MECH are top branches and they close at ranks like 12-15k for a General Candidate. Therefore, you will not be able to

You cannot get Mechanical Engineering in Top Engineering Colleges of Bangalore. You may get seat in some good colleges of Bangalore like Reva University, Presidency University, AMC College, Sai Vidya College, Vidyavardhaka College etc.

This depends on your interest in the course first of all as both are among the reputed colleges. Though NIT is a tag in itself, Jadavpur University is actually better even in rankings and placements. Moreover IT stream has more scope than Mechanical anyway since you have opportunities
