Hi aspirant, in my opinion, vnit mechanical is a better option. IN Vnit there is a good competitive among students. The placement scenario is better. Overall it looks better. 

Both the college are nearly the same. You should choose that college which gives you option of choosing your favorite branch.

The cut off rank you have mentioned for M.P. Govt. Engg. Colleges does not match with cutoff list given by DTE , creating confusion.

The details about the placement and job opportunities may not be special but the college has fame and name due to the quality engineers working in all over the world as excellent engineers. Nowadays government colleges don't offer quality placements.
Average package is around 1.2-1.5 lakhs per annum.

Dear aspirant, you may have less chances of getting Mechanical stream in top Universities based on previous years cutoffs. But you can try for it because cut-offs changes from year to year.

#nit warangal ,nit trichy, nit suratkal and nit calicut .

Sorry to inform you that its really hard for you to get into any national institute of technology with mechanical branch due to low rank .
Even though you can take chance in mostly nort east nits like nit shillong or nit aizwal might you get seat
