    Unfortunately you cannot change streams from diploma tobdegree.

    Which mean syou can go for Mechanical engineering only for degree course lateral entry into second year of engineering.

    Many colleges dont allow change of stream.

    For Mechanical engineering you get very few colleges from core domain. Average salary is 3.5lpa and 50%placements.

    Hence IT, is recommended.
