Both fields are different to each other.if your interest in designing in the Maps/architect then choose architecture otherwise mechanical is a good choice for engineering.
In Mechanical engineering, you also learn Architecture part using Computer software(Autocad or etc..)
so choose according to your interest.

in amritapuri-450 seats are fixed for the complete engineering while for the mechanical the seats are around 40-5o only but right now its completely filled you can get through the management quota

Their are very few reputed colleges that accepts your ranks but keep checking till the last round. For sure you will find a good college of your choice. Also try taking up more entrance exams for more success rate
Chances are less to get seat in reputed colleges under merit category
