As your ST rank is 9612, you won't get any branch in VNIT, Nagpur. The cutoff for every branch is around 2000 for above. If you had a better rank, you woul've got admission. Try for other northern NITs.

You have a very good rank. You can get almost any course you want in a good NIT. You can get both ME and CS in NITK, ME in NIT trichy and Warangal, CS in NIT Delhi etc. Please check the cuoff in the below link.

I don't understand which college are you talking about. Is it KIIT? If so, you won't get Mechanical in KIIT, as the cutoff is around 11000.
